Experience
In addition to private practice, I have experience providing trauma-informed care to a variety of stressed and marginalized populations, including veterans, the homeless, survivors of sexual abuse, families involved in the child welfare system, medically fragile children, teenagers in residential care, and LGBTQ youth.
I have extensive training and experience using the Cognitive Behavioral and Seeking Safety evidence-based practice models for trauma recovery.
I received a Social Work Field Instructor Certification from UCLA, and have 18 years of experience training graduate students, and providing clinical supervision to other therapists working in programs across Southern California.
I have been a Director of Clinical Services for Hillsides from 2013 to 2018, and a Clinical Supervisor, Director, and Assistant Vice President for Community-Based Programs with Hathaway-Sycamores from 2000-2013.
Approach
I work with both traditional insight-oriented, and cognitive behavioral therapies depending on your needs. The psychodynamic “insight-oriented” approach is often the effective treatment of choice for clients who want to work on relationship patterns, life transitions, family dynamics, identity issues, and greater self-understanding. Cognitive Behavioral therapies are effective for shorter term relief from symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias.
Fee
$150 for a 50 minute session with some flexibility to slide based on need.
I am also part of the Cigna (and other insurances) provider network, and will provide you with a superbill for out of network insurance billing.
